Content Usage Agreement

This Content Usage Agreement (“Agreement”) explains how Tinyormous may use stories, photographs, messages, and other content voluntarily submitted through tinyormous.com.

By submitting content to Tinyormous and agreeing to this Agreement through our submission process, you grant Tinyormous the permissions described below.

This Agreement should be read together with our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Disclaimer.

1. You Keep Ownership of Your Story

Your story remains yours.

When you submit original content to Tinyormous, you retain ownership of that content. Submitting your story does not transfer your copyright ownership to Tinyormous.

Instead, you grant Tinyormous permission to use your submission as described in this Agreement.

Because the license is non-exclusive, you remain free to publish your original story elsewhere, share it yourself, or grant other people or organizations permission to use it.

2. License You Grant Tinyormous

By submitting content to Tinyormous, you grant Tinyormous a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, edit, format, adapt, publish, display, distribute, perform, communicate, promote, market, archive, and otherwise use your submitted content in connection with Tinyormous, its storytelling mission, publications, products, services, and media.

This license permits both commercial and non-commercial uses authorized by this Agreement.

Tinyormous publications, media, products, or services containing or promoting submitted content may be sold, monetized, sponsored, supported by advertising, or otherwise generate revenue.

“Non-exclusive” means you continue to own your original content and remain free to use or publish it elsewhere.

“Worldwide” means the permissions apply internationally.

“Royalty-free” means Tinyormous is not required to pay royalties, licensing fees, revenue sharing, or other compensation for uses authorized by this Agreement unless Tinyormous separately agrees otherwise with you in writing.

You are granting Tinyormous permission to use your content. You are not transferring ownership of your original content to Tinyormous.

3. Where Your Story May Be Used

Tinyormous may use submitted content, in whole or in part, in connection with:

Tinyormous.com
The Tinyormous Story Library
Books and printed story collections
E-books and digital publications
Audiobooks
Podcasts and other audio programs
Videos and video series
Documentary-style content
Social media
Email newsletters
Advertising and promotional campaigns
Marketing materials
Educational and inspirational materials
Events and presentations
Community features
Digital products and collections
Tinyormous-branded publications, products, platforms, and services
Future media, technologies, formats, or distribution methods reasonably connected to Tinyormous and its storytelling mission

Tinyormous may distribute these materials directly or through third-party platforms and service providers used to publish, manufacture, host, distribute, promote, or sell Tinyormous content.

4. Commercial and Monetized Uses

Content submitted to Tinyormous may appear in Tinyormous products, publications, or media that generate revenue.

For example, Tinyormous may publish a book containing selected stories, produce a monetized podcast or video series, sell a digital story collection, display advertising alongside a story, obtain sponsorship for a Tinyormous program, or otherwise commercially support its storytelling activities.

Unless we separately agree otherwise with you in writing, you will not be entitled to royalties, revenue sharing, licensing fees, or other compensation from these permitted uses.

The possibility that Tinyormous generates revenue from a permitted use does not transfer ownership of your original submission to Tinyormous.

5. Adapting Stories Into Other Formats

Tinyormous may reasonably adapt submitted content for different formats and audiences.

For example, we may:

Edit or shorten a written story
Create a headline, subtitle, excerpt, or summary
Reorganize a story for readability
Turn written content into narrated audio
Adapt a story for a podcast episode
Adapt written content into video
Include a story in a book or collection
Create promotional excerpts or quotations
Create captions or descriptions
Combine a story with other Tinyormous editorial material
Add narration, introductions, commentary, or contextual information
Format content for different devices, platforms, or media

Tinyormous will make reasonable efforts to preserve the essential meaning of a contributor’s story when making adaptations.

Unless separately agreed in writing, uses permitted by this Agreement do not require additional approval or compensation from the contributor.

6. Editing Your Submission

Tinyormous may edit submitted content before or after publication for:

Grammar and spelling
Clarity
Readability
Formatting
Length
Titles and headings
Organization and structure
Privacy
Safety
Accuracy
Fact-checking
Editorial consistency
Website presentation
Search and discoverability

We may remove unnecessary identifying details or information that creates privacy, safety, legal, or editorial concerns.

We will make reasonable efforts not to materially misrepresent the meaning of your story.

7. Photographs, Images, and Other Materials

If you submit photographs, illustrations, recordings, graphics, documents, or other materials with your story, you represent that you created those materials or have the necessary rights and permissions to allow Tinyormous to use them as described in this Agreement.

Tinyormous may resize, crop, optimize, format, caption, edit, or otherwise reasonably adapt submitted visual materials for permitted uses.

Tinyormous is not required to use an image you submit.

We may instead use licensed photography, stock imagery, illustrations, AI-generated images, or other visual representations to accompany or promote your story.

Unless specifically identified otherwise, an image accompanying a story should not necessarily be interpreted as depicting the actual people, location, or events described.

8. Your Name and Attribution

You may be given the option to submit a story using your name, a display name, or anonymously.

When appropriate, Tinyormous may identify you as the contributor or author using the name or display name you provide.

If you request anonymous publication, Tinyormous will make reasonable efforts not to publicly identify you as the contributor.

Tinyormous may remove or modify identifying details when reasonably necessary to protect privacy or honor an anonymity request.

Submitting a story does not guarantee that Tinyormous will provide a particular form, size, or placement of attribution.

9. Email and Private Contact Information

Contact information provided for administrative purposes, such as your email address, is not intended for public display unless you specifically authorize its publication.

Tinyormous may use your contact information to:

Communicate with you about your submission
Ask questions about your story
Verify information when appropriate
Discuss edits or publication
Respond to correction, privacy, or removal requests
Provide administrative communications related to your submission

Marketing communications are handled separately where required.

10. Information About Other People

Stories often involve people other than the contributor.

By submitting content, you represent that you have the right to provide the information contained in your submission and that you have not knowingly included unlawful, defamatory, confidential, or improperly obtained private information.

You should avoid including sensitive personal information about another person unless it is genuinely necessary, appropriate, and you have the right or appropriate permission to share it.

Tinyormous may edit, anonymize, decline, restrict, or remove content that creates privacy, safety, legal, or ethical concerns.

11. Accuracy and Authenticity

Tinyormous is built around authentic and meaningful storytelling.

By submitting a story, you represent that it is truthful to the best of your knowledge and reflects your genuine experience, knowledge, or perspective.

We recognize that memories may be imperfect and that different people may remember the same event differently.

Tinyormous may research or fact-check submissions but is not obligated to independently verify every detail.

We may decline or remove content that we reasonably believe is intentionally false, fraudulent, defamatory, unlawfully obtained, or materially misleading.

12. Publication Is Not Guaranteed

Submitting content does not guarantee publication.

Tinyormous retains editorial discretion over what appears on its website, publications, social media, podcasts, books, videos, or other platforms.

We may decline a submission for editorial, legal, privacy, safety, quality, relevance, or other legitimate reasons.

We are not obligated to provide an explanation for every editorial decision.

13. No Employment or Payment Relationship

Submitting content does not create an employment, contractor, partnership, joint venture, agency, or other business relationship between you and Tinyormous.

Unless Tinyormous separately agrees otherwise with you in writing, submission and permitted use of your content do not create an obligation to pay you.

This includes permitted use in commercial or monetized Tinyormous publications and media.

14. Promotion of Your Story

If Tinyormous publishes or otherwise uses your story, we may promote it using:

Headlines
Excerpts
Quotations
Summaries
Images
Graphics
Social media posts
Video or audio previews
Newsletter features
Advertisements
Promotional materials

For example, Tinyormous may feature a sentence from your story alongside an image and a link inviting people to read, watch, purchase, or listen to the full Tinyormous publication or feature.

These promotional activities are included within the license granted under this Agreement.

15. Third-Party Distribution and Service Providers

Tinyormous may use third-party companies and platforms to host, manufacture, publish, distribute, sell, stream, advertise, or promote content permitted under this Agreement.

For example, a Tinyormous book may be printed or distributed through a publishing or retail service, while a podcast may be distributed through podcast platforms.

Tinyormous may provide submitted content to such service providers as reasonably necessary to carry out the uses permitted by this Agreement.

This does not mean Tinyormous may sell ownership of your original content to unrelated third parties for purposes unrelated to Tinyormous without additional authorization where required.

16. Corrections and Updates

If you discover a significant error in a story you submitted, you may contact Tinyormous to request a correction or update.

We will make reasonable efforts to review legitimate requests and make appropriate changes where practical.

Tinyormous may also independently correct factual, grammatical, privacy, formatting, or other issues when appropriate.

17. Requests for Anonymization

If your story was published using your identity and you later develop a legitimate privacy concern, you may contact us to request anonymization.

Where reasonably practical, Tinyormous may remove or modify your name and identifying details.

However, we cannot guarantee removal of information that has already been copied, indexed, archived, printed, downloaded, shared, republished, purchased, or distributed by third parties outside Tinyormous’s control.

18. Requests to Remove Your Story

You may contact Tinyormous to request removal of a story you submitted.

We will make reasonable efforts to review and honor legitimate removal requests.

Removal from Tinyormous.com does not necessarily remove copies that already exist in:

Books or printed materials already produced or distributed
E-books or digital products already distributed
Podcasts or videos already published or downloaded
Email newsletters already delivered
Social media posts or shares
Search-engine indexes or caches
Third-party websites or platforms
Archives and backups
Screenshots or copies created by other users

Tinyormous may retain limited internal copies where reasonably necessary for legal, administrative, security, backup, archival, or recordkeeping purposes.

19. Effect of a Removal Request on Future Uses

If Tinyormous approves a request to remove submitted content, we will make reasonable efforts to discontinue new uses of that submission after the request has been processed.

A removal request generally does not require Tinyormous to recall, destroy, withdraw, or recreate materials that were already produced, published, sold, distributed, downloaded, or otherwise used before the request was processed.

For example, if a contributor’s story has already appeared in a printed Tinyormous book, Tinyormous would not ordinarily be required to retrieve copies that have already been sold or distributed.

Where reasonably practical, we may exclude the story from future editions or new uses after an approved removal request.

20. Editorial and Independently Researched Stories

This Agreement primarily applies to content voluntarily submitted to Tinyormous by contributors.

Tinyormous may separately research and publish editorial stories based on publicly available information, reputable journalism, historical records, interviews, public statements, and other sources.

A person featured in an independently researched Tinyormous story does not become a contributor under this Agreement merely because they are mentioned or depicted in the story.

21. Rights Not Granted by This Agreement

This Agreement grants Tinyormous broad permission to use content voluntarily submitted to us, but it does not automatically give Tinyormous ownership of a contributor’s identity or every aspect of their life story.

Unless separately authorized or otherwise permitted by law, this Agreement should not be interpreted as granting Tinyormous:

Exclusive ownership of your story
Exclusive film or television rights to your life
Ownership of your name or identity
Unlimited merchandising rights using your name or likeness
The right to sell ownership of your original submission to an unrelated third party for purposes unrelated to Tinyormous

If Tinyormous wishes to acquire additional or exclusive rights for a major film, television, merchandising, licensing, or similar project, we may request a separate written agreement.

22. Future Formats and Technologies

Technology and media formats change over time.

The license granted under this Agreement includes future Tinyormous formats, technologies, platforms, and distribution methods that are reasonably connected to the uses described in this Agreement.

For example, the fact that a particular digital format did not exist when a story was submitted does not necessarily prevent Tinyormous from using the story in that format if the use is reasonably equivalent to the permissions granted here.

23. Changes to This Agreement

Tinyormous may update this Content Usage Agreement periodically to reflect changes to our platform, editorial practices, technology, services, or applicable requirements.

When changes are made, we may update the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page.

Changes will apply as permitted by applicable law.

Material changes should not be interpreted as retroactively granting Tinyormous fundamentally different rights to previously submitted content where additional consent is legally required.
